About This Project
This project explores how Gestalt principles shape usability in minimalist web design. By comparing two websites—one Gestalt-informed and one without—we measure clarity, trust, and efficiency.
Our Approach
We apply Gestalt principles to minimalist layouts to see if they improve usability.
The Experiment
Participants test two versions of a site and complete a short survey.
The Goal
To show that design grounded in human perception is both simple and effective.
Minimalist design is visually appealing, but without structure, it can confuse users. Gestalt psychology provides that structure through proximity, similarity, and figure–ground, which transforms simplicity into clarity.
